I saw this avatar on one of the sites. I just don't remember who I stole it from. It's good for me!

Well if GIMP wasn't so doggoned interesting with so many ways to do things we wouldn't get so side tracked.

It's hard to see the stippling on it. The image just doesn't expand enough to get a really good view of it. Image

I do like the image. :hehe

Resurrecting this post only because some folk implemented Secord's algorithm in C++ and made a windows compile. I posted links at the registry since I started a discussion on this there but will link here too. I couldn't get the gpu capability to work on my system (-a g is the parameters) but cpu works fine (-a c or nothing at all since it's the default). I including my batch file that I created so you can drag and drop your file onto it to create the resulting svg vector file. The source has to be a PNG file though. I choose a threshhold of 1 for quickness since I am rendering 100,000 points. I wouldn't go below 0.3 though (very good quality with that setting) since it can take quite a long time to complete if you do so even if you only have 10,000 or 1000 points. :)

http://www.saliences.com/projects/npr/s ... pling.html

batch file used:

voronoi -a c -t 1 -s 100000 -I %1 -O %1.svg

Also one with threshold set to 0.4 but on 10,000 points.

Cool stuff, Lyle. It didn't work with Wine, and I haven't figured out how to compile or make a configure file, yet. Looks very promising, though!

So do you place the executable along with the dll file in Gimps plug-in folder?

No Rod; this one's a stand-a-lone. I just wish the GPU option would work on my PC, but alas, the onboard MB GPU pretty much sucks; trust me. Still acceptable (though slow) on my system. :)

You need to either run it as a command prompt option and do all the pertinent things, or copy my batch file and then create a short cut to it on your desktop and then do a drag and drop. :)

I copied it as code on the my first reply related to this remake Rod. I also concur with GML Matting. Sure you figured out already that if you hold down the shift key and use mouse clicks, you can make long draw selections (especially useful for folk without a tablet like me). :)

Oh i am loving this plug-in!
I love the way it spreads to the edges when you click an area. :)

This is going to make rendering so much easier.

I tried the script from the command prompt and it blows up. Drag and drop just pops up a command box for a fraction of a second. I tried compatability modes but it still blew up. Win 7 sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm using Win7 64-bit PM. Did you save the batch file in the same directory where the program is located? Only the shortcut to the batch file should be at the desktop. I'm going ahead and zipping up the bat file so I can post it here. Just place it in the same location where the voronoi program is located at and then copy a shortcut of the batch program to your desktop. :)

Yeah. It's in the right place and it runs. It just blows up violently!
