If we could see what I'm drawing in the picture, I'd be drawing a picture of myself drawing a picture of myself drawing a picture of ...

I like it, although it would've been neat to see the recursion ;)

My first thought when seeing this (before reading the caption) was indeed that this is very meta. :) As merrak says, seeing the recursion would be very cool (although a tablet doesn't actually show the image, you could picture it was a cintiq or something ...)

Anyway, I like how you have concentrated only on the minimal lines and features needed for you to be recognizeable - a very clean and effective style with minimal distractions. Looks like the same tablet (Intuos4M) as I have too. :D

Very good drawing but you've got a better graphics tablet than me and that's not on! :hoh

Yeah I tend to go for minimalistic linework usually. For this picture I used a photograph as a model (but didn't trace it). I did a similar piece with pencil a while ago, from the same photo, so I wanted to try doing the same with a tablet.

Intuos4 M rocks :)

I like this...it is a personal picture you are sharing. Not glossed or razzled dazzled. Also, another handsome guy!

I have heard that self portraits can be quite difficult to do. My neice did one where see used her reflection in a mirror. She set her stage and would try to return to the same position to do the WIP.

I tried to do a self-portrait with a mirror. It didn't come out well. I must've blinked every time I looked up at the mirror.

merrak:  it's probably a very good liking of the inside of your eyelids.
