I had forgotten all about this painting. I put some finished coloring in the windows, which makes it pretty much complete :mrgreen:

This is the house I bought. It's 103 years old.

The two trees to the left don't exist; the painting was part of a larger project I lost interest in. Also, Eastern NC doesn't have mountains.

Pretty well done. The colors makes it look like a storm is coming.

The photographer in me notices the cut-off corner on the right, and warns you about an upcoming landslide since the whole house is slightly tilted to the right :)

Very impressive, merrak!
Is the setting real or imagined?

Maybe instead, the entire world is tilted to the left ;)

@Odinbc

Most of the setting is imaginary. The little trees in front of the house are real, as is the big tree behind it. The rest isn't.

This was originally going to be an illustration for something. I don't quite remember anymore.

100 year old houses come with 100 year old problems :P But they're cool if you don't mind "character". I tease my wife that my office has the only perfect floor. Every other room has at least some little dip somewhere in it. Most of it is just cosmetic. The serious stuff (like wiring) has been redone.

A couple friends of me + my wife have a 100 year old house with original K&T wiring. I think they'll need to replace it pretty soon, and that gets expensive fast.

Nicely done.It looks like a very secluded setting.Kind of spooky feeling to me also.

The atmosphere came out a bit more stormy than I originally anticipated. Oops :P
