(Click for much bigger DA version (recommended))

A rather quick image I did as a card for my dad on Father's day (which is this weekend in Sweden). Aimed for a more "painterly" style here, with more visible brush strokes.

GIMP + MyPaint.

I don't know how you do it, Griatch, but you capture a mood so beautifully - in all of your paintings.

I love the brush strokes particularly on the man's face and on the water. Lovely, lovely.

Simply a beautiful Fathers Day card.
One thing i will always cherish are the things my children make for me on holidays.

Well done Griatch. =)

Excellent Griatch. You definitely mastered Chiaroscuro for sure. :)

The Clair de Lune music's a nice touch. :) Glad the mood works.

I don't have any kids myself, but if I ever do, I'll be sure to push them to make lots of stuff for me. ;)

I never really set out to work in Chiaroscuro style, but I see what you mean. I like contrasts, and then it's natural to go for the stark blacks I guess.
