Had a mini-hiatus due to end of semester, but now I have time to draw some more

Bigger version on DA

Started as environment practice with MyPaint + GIMP. I'd like to make this a redo of a two year old painting. Just need to decide where to put the characters.

Old version (2011):

Very nice, I'm getting the sense that this is some out of reach place where, If one can find it and then get to it, only the righteous shall succeed, then one will learn to master a very ancient marial art and in doing so become the hero.

A very out of reach place - it's based off of a scene inspired by my days as a graduate student, trying to get research help from some of the professors at the university.

merrak: looks so beautiful! this layout works a lot better than the 2011 one, i think. much more dramatic. i liked the new hut better too, though it seems to be leaning a little towards the left. i also wonder if the wise man isn't bothered much by rain, wind and cold, but of course if he's the martial arts master he4rty imagines he will be all ascetic and just endure whatever hardships come his way.

hehe, i just saw your reply to he4rty - oh i remember very well what that was like!!

@AnMal[/b]: Thanks :D The original was one of my best of 2011.

I actually thought it was a rather conservative building.

I'll get the engineering team to straighten it out a bit.

Ha! I remember when you were drawing the original! I think you posted Screen Shots as you progressed with it.

The New version is defiantly much better.

Thanks!

Oh! I remember making all those WIP images. Time sure flies. The old one has no atmospheric perspective, a term I didn't even knew existed until between then and now.

Thanks :)

Two years is a long time... 1,051,200 minutes.
