Just thought to myself, self, isn't G'MIC's Local Orientation filter a cool preset or what.

Click here for this render's Flickr. :)

This is a very cool render, there lylejk! The eye is tricked into thinking the scale here is huge, I like to think this as carved into the side of a mountain. :D

That's pretty cool, and surprisingly realistic. I didn't notice the face at first - I thought it was an actual mountain. But something seems quite fishy... oh! A face!

lol; thanks for the feedback. I too think the mountain climber adds perspective Griatch. Also, glad that I fooled you for ever the short time Merrack; like doing that to folks (as I've done at other forums with crop circles and labyrinths in the past). :)

I love the added little guy effect. You should give him/her a shadow though.

I did give the guy a shadow; just very subtle based on my perceived sun angle Rod. Trust me, the shadow's there. :)

lylejk: i came in expecting another of your tweaked portraits of your father, so i wasn't fooled like merrak, but it does look great! i agree with griatch, i think of mountain carvings. and local orientation is a favourite of mine, i use it for lots of stuff :).
