Read about this before and decided this could be a good way for me to start and maybe could help some others out too, so I've opened it up as a challenge, and because its in the art forum except critque if you post because I will be encourging it.

Its quite simple you just have to do a drawing every day for 30 days, I decided to add a time limit so I don't get bogged down and possibly frustrated and as everything else is 30 then 30 minutes seemed good.

For my own challenge I am going to do some simple still life objects just to get the feel of drawing shape and shading, although to start with I have decided to go for a salt cellar, the reason being I shall upload a collage of images every 4 days and on day 30 revisit the salt cellar.

So you may want to pick something you want to try and improve like textures or body shapes and draw 30 different ones then post here or start your own 30 day thread.

Here is my attempt of the salt cellar (Day 1)

Image

Just a quick question the image uploaded here is bigger than the 100% view on gimp, is there a way to get them the same.

I'll probably fail at this challenge. Do you keep posting in that thread every day or do you just update your post?

I was just going to update every 4 days and post a collage of the images I done.

Nice Idea, He4rty, I will try that as I am pretty ordinary at drawing with a tablet. Rather than clutter up your thread , I will do my own thread and post every two or three days. But I will make a start today. I will probably edit this post a few times and add images and comments rather than lots and lots of separate posts. Time 35 minutes (sorry). 25/08/2013 Box of tissues

I thought I'd have a go at this, although I'm not sure I can do one every day.

Here is #1. "Sunset Speedpaint"

{ Bigger Version }

I went a little over, since the clock ran out as I was halfway through shading the sky. Took approximately 40 minutes.

Thank You Erisian and He4rty for your kind words. I am a beginner just like you He4rty, I must try Mypaint. Bloody, very nice work and Merrak, a great image. Today's image sunset over a small soak. I am trying to stick to a limited palette and 2 or three brushes to minimise time

Time 35 minutes again .

wbool - if you're just a beginner and this is the quality of your work then I think I must be somewhere just below beginner. Nice work.

Days 2 and 3

Day 2
Had one of them days where nothing went right and everything I touched either broke or went wrong, you know the sort, The drawing didn't escape my woes either and my wooden puzzle cube looks dreadful.

Day 3
What a difference a day can make, still a bit dispondent from yesterday decided to hunt out some tutorials, the best advice I found was to make a slighty off white and dirty canvas. This has been a blessing because I can now use white to highlight rather then relying on the eraser and paper colour, so today I tackled and aftershave bottle, really pleased although the lid could do with some work on the shape.

I think all the drawings so far are nice! I don't think I could do something like this, too much pressure. xD

I await to see what people come up with nextttttt.

Mokonafan - Thanks for the comment
Bloody - The drawings are looking good, may I suggest from now on you post any new drawings as a reply, the reason being we might miss some of your wonderful work as we all seem to be posting here now.

Okay i can do that. I just don't want to Spam the thread and keep everything in one place.

But 30 Minutes are sometimes too less time, we should lighten the rules a bit XD.

@wbool63 I really like the atmosphere in yours!

I lost track of how long I spent on today's image. I sat down to work on it, and when I looked up, it was much later than I thought. I'm guessing it was about 100 minutes (oops), but it may have been much less since I was doing other things online every couple minutes.
