The other day, when I made the Viraje tutorial, I thought in another variation of the effect. The result is this one:

The colors are nice, but I would smooth her tone just a little bit since the effect gives her skin some rough patches. Unless that is the desired result. Other than that, it's a nice effect.

The original photo has been already enhanced (first pic) to the color/brightness/saturation/etc. optimals
and i don't see any further enhancement without actually destroying it. Too much photo-retouching is as bad as no retouching at all.

Achieving some artistic effects is the whole different matter. Two rules here: make it look organic - the composition should be
more important than details, details only emphasize composition's main features.
