Uh? The transform tools (perspective and others) give you a preview which is above all other layers otherwise it would be very difficult to work on the bottom layers. The opacity of this preview can be adjusted in the Tools options. The source layer is not automatically hidden because there are very many cases where the transform should be applied with regard to the source layer, but if/when needed you can set the visibility/opacity of the source layer
at any time while the transform tools is operating using the usual controls in the Layers list.
