Thanks for the tutorial! Can you do one for how you made the 3D fractal? You rock!
Thank to reply , i was fearing you did not noticed my reply, or better that was a mini tut in my reply.
It is everything clear ? i may transform in a more classic tut , thinking better i should collect the various mini tut i wrote, always in my art post (a LOT on gimptalk , but several here too ) ) because are too difficult to find (even for me )
Also i should learn to use video for the Tut because most of my "secrets" are secret because so simple that are so easy overlook, because mind expect always something complex;
A video may SHOW that is so simple, words are more tricky
About Mandelbulb 3D complexity of 3D fractals is close to infinite, if you pretend to comprehend the math and geometrical (obviously most not euclidean geometry and math ) you may got very old before even start
Luckily there is another way around, FIRST you start doing fractals ...and if you do some fact, will become evident, others may ignite your interest for the math involved , but for sure you don't need to become a mathematician to make excellent fractals
Practically about a tut on 3D fractal i may show how to start, and improve more and more even starting from 0 knowledge
Anyway my approach doesn't require any previous knowledge, BUT require some ...interactivityAs practical example now you would like to learn quickly how to create amazing 3D fractal ? Fine, i may show you
BUT first you should do a little exercise and post you results ,then i will do, this the deal The exercise is define and show me which are the "amazing fractals" you would like be able to do , and to do YOURS (meaning that your goal is not just copy ) this means a list, long as you wish of links
VERY IMPORTANT
1) you must filter your search :
you may search here
http://www.deviantart.com/?q=Mandelbulb+parametershttp://www.deviantart.com/?qh=§ion= ... parameterswell i may add more links but there are already a few thousands to browse , so i think may suffice ...
2) When choosing :
imagine that your are not searching for the best images , of course you should really like what you chose , but after that narrow your results considering the images you selected as DOORS:
you want select the door(s) for the most fascinating word(s)...chose the world you like most, and consider the original fractal render as just a door
And really 3D renders , if matched with theirs parameters , ARE doors to words you may navigate in 3D, and navigating you may discover treasures not even imagined by the author of the original render
To conclude i may anticipate the main points of my tut:
1) open parameters
2) use the 3d navigator
3) render
4) change lights and colours
NOTE that once you have rendered, modification of colours/lights may be applied in real time, instantly, without need to render again
5) SAVE
there is a 6 but doesn't require additional knowledge ,only will to experiment, and that you already are comfortable till 5.
anyway 6 is
6) Tips to modify the rest of parameters
But we start with 1, make your list , post it, and i will be ready
PS in the while if your are interested to a tutorial on symmetry and creativity
