Looking at Esper's blog http://gimp-science-labs.blogspot.de/, I tried to use his tutorial "Empire strikes back" to see how close I could come, but go my own direction with it. Image

Sorry Esper, couldn't get the effect exactly.... I'm still struggling with alpa curves. :gaah

Personally I think the text outline looks a little 'flat'. Needs a little more gradient or highlights IMO.
Love the depth of the carving on the pumpkin. :bigthup

rellik419: the composition is lovely, the text looks just beautiful against the pumpkin background. i think the edges need a little rounding to go better with the amber inlay, though.
