I have this idea for a design but I would really like a sphere pattern made up of evenly spaced squares, both front and back of sphere, been experimenting with the map object filter. I've got close but just can't quite get the edges correct, the experiments have produced some interesting designs though.

Thanks Erisan, After more Google searching found out that I need to create a pattern called "equirectangular", found a template online for circles which I have converted into squares.

Top - the intial pattern ready for sphere mapping
bottom - both images show the final map sphere from different view points.
