Made this image last night. I just started to put down some curved paths, and this is what it ended up being.

Gimp Splash made using this image... viewtopic.php?f=11&t=9230&p=119647#p119684

That's an interesting effect. What did you do with the paths to get the gradients?

I set up the path to begin outside the canvas and end outside as well. Putting each path on its own layer. Then making a selection of the left side of the canvas, inverting the selection and doing a gaussian blur of about 50 on a 1 pixel line. Making sure to duplicate each line beforehand so I could use them later.
I did each layer separately to avoid confusion. Once I ran the blur, I duplicated it 5-8 times until I got the gradient I wanted for that line. Then I changed the color of each gradient to what I wanted.
There's more to it, sorry I can't go into every detail, it's to much for me to type. There's probably an easier way of doing this, but I wasn't think about that when I started. It just sort of happened.

Nothing was planed, I just went with whatever came to mind at the time. Trying this and doing that, changing this and removing that and so on. Sort of free style, with not boundaries.
I think it just might be the beginnings of another one of my splash screen images. ;)

:rofl I've been up all night without sleep and now it's to late to hit the hay. I have life issue that need taking care of.
I went to Wally World, (aka Wal-Mart) to pick up a few things and left a 10 pound bag of sugar at the register.
I did get the garlic press I wanted. It had a "IMPROVED! More durable design" sticker on the packaging, and would you know... one of the handles snapped in half on it's first use. :gaah
Not my day.

Also I did make the Gimp splash screen image for the original posted one, and here it is.

What?! there's pink in there... :hoh Don't get me started on pink now. :hehe
Did you know... that before WWII, Pink was the color of chose for boys. It was only after the war that blue came into fashion, and kind of stayed there.
It was thought that pink was such a vibrant color, that every boy was covered in head to toe in pink. :hehe
I like pink, but I wouldn't wear it.
Thanks AnMal. ;)
