I can't use white

Hello, I have a problem with my gimp, Everytime I change my color to white or to a color close to that, it doesnt register as white but as the color Lime (44ff4e). Can someone please help.

Best guess, the image is color-indexed. (and white is not in the colormap)

Try: Change the color mode to RGB Image -> Mode -> RGB
