Is it possible for someone with Swatchbooker possibly convert these adobe gradients to a gimp gradient for me.

Adobe GRD doesn't seem to be supported.
Unless i am doing something wrong?

I could open them in PhotoShop and save as a image then i think i can turn them into Gimp GGR files from there.

Did you know you can create SVG gradients for Gimp and Gimp will run them?
I have a tutorial for it here Gimp SVG Gradient Tutorial if you are interested.Its much quicker than using Gimps gradient editor.

Okay i had an awesome idea on converting Adobe gradients into Gimp gradients (html or text)
Here is an image of an Adobe Real-Sky gradient ran through the image-table-creator on my website.



One of the images is the real PNG image one is a table of hex colors.
Can you guess which is which?
Pretty far out - means you can take any example gradient image from Adobe and run it through this program.The results will be the hex colors you need to reproduce the gradient.

You will of course need to open one of your GRD files in a text editor and change the colors to the ones in the table produced.

The code needs to be tweaked though as it takes EVERY hex color into consideration, which means lines and lines of almost identical color codes.So many hex colors just for that one small gradient image that it has over 60,000 characters. .In other words i couldn't post an example here.

That's not even a tenth of the code size though.Without tweaking the code to grab only particular gradient stops, it's faster to do it in Gimp.

Maybe one of our fine coders here could write something in Python or SCM to grab the colors of an image and create a gradient (GRD) file with it.It seems like i saw one before but i do not remember where.

Rod: I like your tutorial better. It's much faster. If someone could work that into a script where you pick your colors in place of opening an editor, etc. awesome!

I use RobA's script a lot for Photoshop gradients, etc. I'd love to see GIMP improve the gradient editor to make it easier to use for selecting colors and blending.

I think the maximum amount of samples is limited with the current script but if you change line 117 to



you can have up to 1024 samples which works wonders when you sampling colors from photographs of real images that have complex colors it does wonders.
