I created some GIMP palettes which provide the colors and their names of various Crayola crayon sets.

The standard 133-crayon set
Silver Swirls
Magic Scent
Gem Tones
Pearl Brites
Metallic FX
Silly Scents

The information for these palettes was taken from Wikipedia's List of Crayola crayon colors.

To install any of the palettes, just download the file and place it in your .gimp-2.6/palettes folder.

On the text links, just right click on them and save target as and it will be in the proper format Alonte. Then place them in your palettes directory. :)

The folder where you place the palette files should be one of the folders listed in the "Edit->Preferences->Folders->Palettes" dialog window.

By default, you should have two folders listed: a user-specific folder and a system-wide folder. If you place the palette file into the system folder then any user on your computer will have it available (you will need administrator privileges to save it to that folder).

Be sure and save each file as a GPL extension in the palettes folder. :)
Go to Windows>Dockable Dialogs>Palettes and select the palette you want from that list.

Thanks Saulgoode! these are very nice.

EDIT:
I attached them in a zip here Saulgoode. I hope you do not mind.Just thought it would be easier for folks here to grab them. :)

Rob are you saying to go out of gimp to the Windows dir? I have no sub dir like that.

I added a tab showing the palettes in gimp, but still don't know what the palettes do. Can you use them as a brush type deal?
Thanks

The main thing I like about palettes is that the colors have names (though some of the Crayola names are admittedly quite stupid). Palettes can also be useful if you are using Indexed images; for example, if you choose one of the Crayola palettes as your "Custom palette" when converting an image to Indexed mode ("Image->Mode->Indexed") then only those crayon colors will appear in the final image.
