Hey guys after some awesome help in the "Introduce yourself" forum I am encouraged to ask for more.
I am using the latest versions of Mac (Lion) and Gimp but am brand new to Gimp.
Can anyone point me to a video or other tutorial to show how to take an action video clip and save it as a series of single images into one image?
What I am trying to do is a golf chipping shot with about 5 frames before the club connects with the ball and about 5 frames after the ball has been hit, all combined on one image. Make sense?
In other words an action still!
Hope that makes sense.
I have a high speed camera that can do the video and edit individual frames.

Go you have GAP for Gimp? It might be helpful.
A quick thought, you can make frames layers and play with layer multiply and opacity.

Hi Odinbc
What is GAP? 'Scuse ignorance.
Opacity?
I was thinking of a series of layers with the golf club cut out of 10 consecutive frames and layered - would take me forever but that is ok as part of a "learning and practice" curve. I suspect the body of the golfer would move - hence having to cut out the club 10 times.
Just off to do the video now.
Will check in later - thanks for the help.

You shouldn't have to cut anything, just use layer modes like multiply.
If your interested in Gap here's some links. I don't know anything about MacPort Gap version so maybe one of the Mac folks will chime in with more incite.
