I like to use some stuff from Googles box'o'goodies!

Google Web Fonts

Not only can you down load them since their all open source. They've been optimized for web use. For those of you that are html proficient. You can stick a one liner in your 'head' section and use that family name. This give you a break from the usual Times New Roman, Verdana, Tohma and other standard fonts.

As with all things Google the interface is fairly simple!

Here's a site that's giving away authentic looking H. P. Lovecraft fonts. They are well suited for some of the more creepy compositions.

Here's three, I couldn't resist the first one.

Its always nice to get all these links with free fonts Galore, but has anyone ever found a way to get rid of the Zillion default fonts We don't want so we can put just the ones we want in our Folder?
I have run into several people that did that and they had a real mess. I guess a lot of the default fonts need to be there in able to open different web sites.
If there was a way to keep the default fonts separated into their own folder, it would make it so much better if we didn't have to sift through them to get the one we want.

Molly you need a font manager. The problem is when you have ton of fonts installed already they aren't much good without a lot of work. The right font manager works like a charm if you keep your system fonts separate from the rest when you have a clean OS. The only alternative would be if Gimp had some way to manage fonts but I doubt that would ever be a priority for the dev guys.

I guess I don't have a font manager. I typed it in Search and it said not found.
Anyway, I guess I will just have to put up with it the same as everyone. Takes quite a while to sift through them all if you want to look for one that suits what you are working on.

It's been a long time since I last posted , but this topic was one I had flagged for updates.

It's been so long that I can't remember what OS you use, but there are decent free font managers available for Windows; if you are on a Linux system, there are some useful ones in the repositories as well.
