I made a vector version of the most recent GIMP logo, featured on the GIMP 2.8 loading splash screen.
This is not an exact copy, but it's pretty close. It's vector, so you can import it at any size you wish, and it will always have a perfectly crisp edge.

I decided to make this after I had absolutely no luck finding a high enough quality version to put on a virtual software box I'm making for the temporary links page on my project websites.

So here's one. Open in Inkscape and export to any format you like for best results (GIMP's SVG import is decent, but it seems to cut off some of the gradients before they are complete.)

I have included a large transparent png if you can't be bothered to open inkscape.
The font is Droid Sans Fallback (converted to outlines). It was as close as I could get to the font on the actual splash page, without doing any actual work.

Yep, actually that file is how I found this forum! It's the old version of the logo.
I found it here via google, then I got all clicky with forum topics, and decided to stay! lol

Thanks for the re-post! I'll put that one in the folder as well, in case someone wants a retro Wilber.
I put the 2.8 in the new one to associate it with this version, since it will probably change more over time.

Can the above gradient deformation you mentioned be avoided when opening as a svg import in Gimp? Or should I just open it in Inkscape and export it as a png to the scale I need?
