GIMP Chat Banner Challenge

maybe Tux overwrote the content of this folder when the time came.

That could very well be. He probably has 3-4 folders all set to go when the time arrives.

As far as I'm aware.
There is a primary banner rotation, which we all see.
Anything extra needs to be, somehow enabled/activated.
I wish I knew more about it,
but even so I wouldn't be able to do anything.
I don't have the authorization to effect any kind of banner changes.

Can't believe they put that one of mine up there with 2015 on it. The person has the xcf so should be able to remove it or just not put it up!

Omega doesn't seem to be around but gimpchat banners has switched to xmas ones so i am assuming that it has been written into code to automate the process of switching to different group of banners (maybe it's driven based on the dates or something).

Changing the banners is a manual process,
requiring renaming of header files.
Omega,
(or someone he gave server access to).
Would have had to of renamed the header files.
You would need to have access to the server on GC to change the banner rotation.

Omega hasn't been to Gimp Chat since Sep 8th 1216.
It wasn't Omega and it wasn't any of the GC admin who made the change.

I have tried one banner for gimp chat and I hope it will decorate the site. This is what I have been doing in Gimp now-a-days. So I put together some of the content and assembled a gimp banner.
Arch stones have been put by 'Follow Path' by Arakne.
Geometric Pattern is set by Ofnuts python plugin.
Red Highlighted Text is by Script Fu Text Highlight.
Pen and Brush icons are free stuff from web.
Layers Effects
Rest of the work is by me.

Your Gimp Chat banner is very nice Rashid.
As are all of the other most recently posted banner creations.

The XCF files must also be uploaded,
as well as the PNG images.

However,
We can't guarantee that any of them will be put into the banner rotation.

As it stands...
No banners have been added to the rotation in quite a while.



If I had it my way,
I would've added all the banners to the rotation,
soon after they were posted.
