My browser eliminates the advertising clutter but yes, for the last week GC response times have been very slow.

Much slower to load here on the other side of the Earth. Looks like it's moved to a budget hosting plan with maximum advertising.

Still the same address as in the 2021 outage though.

Early afternoon now here in Oz - response times are slow, between 10 and 25 seconds.

EDIT - mid afternoon; I came back to see if anything had changed. Excellent response times right now.

I have reported this to the site owner.

I sent a message to Omega concerning this issue.
Subsequently,
some changes have been implemented,
which may help alleviate the forum's noticeable slowdown.

Yup, there is also at least one more thing to do but that requires more time and work.

I hope that for now site is faster than before.

Still very slow, almost 10 seconds to load a page. Given the timings (it's mostly the page itself), my money is on a very slow backing database.

Edit: well, the two "big" images are also slow to come, bu this could be due to secondary queries to the DB.

@Gimp Chat Members
Sorry for this terrible web experience we find ourselves dealing with.
Hopefully this issue will be resolved soon.

@Omega
Everything is still very, very slow.
Please help us to restore Gimp Chat to a more enjoyable experience for all.
