Post subject:  Securing GimpChat

GimpChat should really be using SSL. Not only is it safer for the site and its users but search engines are now penalizing insecure websites.

You can obtain free SSL certificates good for 90 days or you can obtain ones good for a year at cost.

GimpChat shouldn't be appearing lower in searches than sites which have been around far less time.

I agree and this remains something yet to be addressed by Omega.

Everybody is using Let's Encrypt. Totally free SSL certificates, the certificate lasts 90 days but can be renewed automatically. This is what I have been using on gimp-forum.net(*) for over 3 years now.

But yes, this requires an admin to setup..

(*) A site that has been around for far less time, but also carries useful answers :)
