can i have it removed from the rotation, please ?!

I like yours as well but I will remove it if you'd like.

Please confirm that you want it removed. Would you like it replaced with another version of your banner?

Now that my FF is running again, (cross my fingers) I can finally see the banners. I really like, love all these beautiful banners. It is so interesting to see all the different creations. KUDO's guys/gals.

I thought I would try some Holiday banners, so this is my first post. I left all the layers so I can make changes.

Well, Elvis did record the best selling Christmas album of all time.

1957 LP Elvis' Christmas Album

Anyone want to try their hand at a Thanksgiving banner?

I never got around to making a Thanksgiving banner this year but I have been working on one for Christmas.

Not sure if Wilber likes the cold or not.

No font was used, the text and the snow was created from scratch. I did use some other images like the bow, the Santa, his bag, the tree and the presents. I scrunched Wilber in there to alter the Santa then put the hat on him.

:gaah I just realized I didn't include any drop shadows. the one behind Santa came with the image. Oops!

Recently when the thread about Maria's dream came up again, it suggested to me that a GIMP Chat banner could be made in that style.

I had a quick look at doing one myself, but my graphic design skills are zero so, personally, that idea is on hold but I'm throwing out a request/challenge to everyone for a banner in a similar style.

And while we are at it, there's lots of good examples of text effects, fractals, geometric patterns, artistic manipulations etc posted here but I think it's time to disprove Erisian's claim: "Good results but totally useless" by using them to make a banner.

Anybody interested in the challenge?

Kevin

That's a pretty tall order/challenge, Dave Smith's style is hard to reproduce and very time consuming.
I'd give it a shot, but wouldn't know where start.
It's a very challenging challenge.

True it wouldn't be easy to put it together.
Are you suggesting that everyone have an input to a single banner and someone put it together?
Of course no one would be able to copy Dave Smith's artwork but there are many good and different styles here so why not show them all off.

That's an interesting question. It wasn't what I was suggesting but it's certainly one way to go and would present another challenge - getting various elements together that match stylistically.
