GnuTux, I was just reading bits and pieces on the board and I was struck by the world wide audience on this forum. Is there some way you could make a world map that allows members to place a pin where they live and perhaps place it in the banner (say on the left side). Or perhaps "pin" it somewhere where we can see the geographic location of members. For privacy reasons it may be better if there are no names attached to the pins. However , I personally, see no objection to show my avatar name next to the pin, although this may be problematic in areas like New York or similar dense population areas. A similar thing exists on "Cartographers' Guild".

I think it would be very interesting to see where everyone was.

That's a cool suggestion, wbool63. I doubt I would have time to write such a mod but I can check to see if something similar exists. In the interim, you might find this interesting.

Here are GC visitors (hits/pages), sorted by country, for the month of March, 2015.

I think that is a great idea Wooble. We had that in another forum I modded and it was quite interesting.
You could zoom in and practically pin it right on the roof of your house. I remember looking at the Great Britiain and there were so many pins, they were almost on top of each other.

@tux. that is a very interesting list Tux. I can see it is pretty well world wide and growing.

I was also interested in your list and how world wide it was :tyspin
Did not expect to see Great Britain at number 2.

I find in this forum and the other one I was in were very heavily populated with the Brits, for such a small country they are plentiful when it comes to the intenet, which is good. I just wish their were more Canadians. It seem strange that we don't have more.

"Such a small country"! Just 1/5 or the US population, that's no Liechtenstein... their relative presence on GC is slighly better than their population ratio (1/4 of the US traffic). Canada is holding its rank, population-wise. My surprise is the French... we are supposed to be bad at English, but we do a bit more than 1/3rd of the English traffic with about the same population.

Wow, what a list! Just in one month. Who would have ever thought there was that great of a variety? Thanks, Tux!

It's very interesting the range in a month. Thank you GnuTux. :)

@GnuTux:
You could consider this rather useful-looking HTML widget: http://www.revolvermaps.com/
Tip: right-click on the demo globe and click "display labels" to toggle labels off/on; use mouse to move globe to area of interest and use mouse wheel to zoom in/out. White dots show users currently on-line; red dots show all historic.

Of course, the usual caveats apply: see the Terms of Service page.
