Thought I'd create a thread for Valentine's Day Banner, in case anyone wanted to contribute.

I'll get the ball rolling.

Very nice & big kudos to everyone who contributed! :tyspin

While it's preferred that the slogan is included, especially on banners rotating daily, there were so many submissions that left it out, it was decided that it would not be a mandatory requirement. Including the slogan will most likely keep a banner in rotation for a longer period.

I love the way you wrapped the ribbon around the divider. How did you do it? :heart

I just knocked out the parts of the ribbon I didn't need and placed it above the divider in the layer stack. Once you create one section, you can just string them together to get the length you need.

A similar technique has been done before with GC banners so I take no credit for the original idea. It seems the same method could be done for a variety of elements, not just ribbons.

Thanks. It just doesn't look as easy as you say it is, though. How did you start?

Here is a zoomed "before and after" example of the method I used. I manually selected the area to knockout with the lasso tool (top), then deleted that section of the curly ribbon to let the divider show though (bottom).

Yes. I found the one I was referring to. It was The Warrior in this banner...

viewtopic.php?p=100287#p100287

I assume he used a similar approach to getting the wrap around effect.
