Congrats Wallace. Has Omega been in touch?
OK I've been asked before but knocked it back because I am not well versed with all things gimp. But I will as a last resort

Being well-versed isn't as important as being willing to help, which actually helps you learn more from experimenting with how GIMP works. Moderators do other things as well, like stopping spam, and removing spam posts. Moving threads to their proper location, etc. Oregonian and Molly got good at GIMP by just helping people figure things out.

I have sent Omega an E-mail.
Requesting that he add mahvin as our newest Gimp Chat Moderator.
Omega is the only one,
who is able to appoint moderators/admin.
We can only wait to see,
if this request is granted or ignored.

This sounds very familiar, old GimpTalk had this problem years ago, the admins left, leaving only moderators like me around, with no access to the server and no way to upgrade the system. This was likely one of the the reasons GimpChat came to be originally, as an alternative to the technical issues with GimpTalk...

Anyway, good you found your new mods, congratulations to Mahvin and Sallyanne!

Thanks Griatch!
:bigthup

I have been given some access to admin control,
but Omega is the only one with server access.
Who can do any of the needed server stuff.
I was hopping to be able to remove the link to Gimp Scripts from the board,
but without access to the server,
this isn't possible for me to do.
Things are better off now,
then they have been in quite a while,
which is more then I thought would happen.
Right now it's a win-win for those who frequent Gimp Chat and for it's future stability.

#36 Wallace: "but without access to the server"

I fail to understand why Omega does not give you server access. You are a trusted and committed member of this forum who would be able to assist Omega in the running of the site.

Anyway, best wishes to sallyanne, mahvin and yourself. :clap
