Your second link refers to a common problem. PHP or some other server component is upgraded which breaks something.
The file ".htaccess" is critical but is sometimes modified by the hosting company.

Check this out?

http://gimpchat.com/abbcode_page.php?mode=wizards&abbc3=abbc3_upload&form_name=postform&text_name=message

Interestingly, you get almost the same error even if not logged in to gimp chat :(

Wallace, is it possible to get a picture inline from dropbox? Only thing I have been able to do is get the address to the pic inline and then you must click on it to see the pic.

You can also use imgur.com. No need to register. And you can copy/paste your pictures directly in the browser for upload, no need to export to file first.

Cant upload images from BBCode box or attach file.

From Flickr I just use the sharing code bbc and place straight into the post.

I hope this gets fixed soon. =(
Using other image sites/hosts for too long is not a good thing.

Yeah; I use Post Image and Flickr (Post Image for more misc. type images). The problem with PI is you cannot directly link the highest rez (downsized version only). You can link to the hirez page but sometimes PI shows not so family friendly ads if you know what I mean. :)

Wallace, I was overjoyed! At 10:39pm I tried to post an image and it worked! But a few minutes later when I tried, I got the invalid message again. Oh, well. Sooner. . .or later.

Sorry about that Pat625,
I know how you feel.
It seems to be an on again off again thing.
Very frustrating.

My thoughts are that this domain has reached its max size limit and is slowly deleting older files as it allows newer ones to post. That would explain the allowance of image postings at weird intervals. This could be fixed by purchasing more space on the server for this domain.

Hey Rod.
that sound logical to me.

By the way.
I did relay the message you asked for me to send to Omega.
There's no way of knowing if he read it or not.
Just thought I'd let you know.

Unfortunately,
The uploading of images issue is still with us.

Yes Rod you're welcome,
and whatever happens won't be due to any lack of effort on our part.

If that was that simple Omega would have found that already :) Disk space is rarely an issue these days, all GC attachments (I reckon around 20GB) easily fit on a USB key.

Whatever the issue is.
We can't continue indefinitely with the way things are.

Still unable to upload image.

I was curious. When the domain was sold, was it just the ownership of the name "gimpchat.com", or did it include all the content of the site also?

One would think that the sale would have included,
most if not all the site's content,
but that's only speculation on my part.

I really haven't the slightest knowledge,
about what was or wasn't included in the sale of Gimp Chat.
That's a question for the former owner or Omega to answer.

I can't wait 'til it gets fixed! I hate the extra 10 minutes to upload images to photobucket. The ads slow down everything!
