Omega is currently working with the server to get things fixed. Please be patient for a little while longer. =)
Thanks!

Sincerely, I doubt it. Or s/he is not competent enough to be admin. This is a server, there are logs to check that will tell what is happening under the hood.

And in any case, s/he could talk with the faithful users....

I'm sorry about this and I apologize.
I've done what I could as a Global Moderator.
However,
I do not have the ability to fix this issue.
If I did,
it would have been fixed by now.

I also have no way of knowing when this issue might be resolved.
I've asked Omega repeatedly about this issue,
and have yet to get any kind of definitive answer,
as to when this issue will be resolved.

Gimp Chat Members,

When the "frustration rant" was concocted it was not intended
to malign the integrity of any Gimp Chat board member or moderator.

It was intended to vent the frustrations that have been mounting up
during the past 3 weeks due to the inability to share some graphic
endeavors with fellow Gimp Chat members.

This is not the first time that this problem has occurred with this forum.

During my "Pre Gimp Life" I was employed in the Information Technology field
and am very cognizant that the problem(s) with the Gimp Chat Forum should
have been repaired and or alleviated in a shorter period of time.

It is apparent that the Gimp Chat Moderator(s) & members have done all that
can be done to request that the corrections be implemented to this fantastic forum.

I will now get off "my soapbox" and return to enjoying discovering the
many wonderful secrets of THE GIMP PROGRAM.

Mainah_Ayuh et al - I agree and sympathise; there are probably many of us with IT work backgrounds and a 'downtime' of this length would certainly not have been tolerated in my day. Still I suppose we must be thankful for small mercies :)

And even less so now.

If Tux still owned the site it wouldn't have gone on this long or anywhere near it.

I agree, if Omega wants his forum to grow he better look after it or sell it to someone who will.
What good is this kind of forum if you can't show your work or look at other members art.

Until it is fixed, i guess it's still good for "chatting".
It's better than no internet at all. :hehe

i hope the uploading issue gets solved soon. i've spent some weeks trying to learn a new software via tutorials posted by helpful members in a forum where they don't allow you to post images directly (or of course to hotlink), so i've seen what imgur and the likes do. the images get circulated after a certain amount of time has passed, so instead of your helpful pictures of buttons to click and angles to rotate in, your tutorial suddenly shows women who must be freezing or cute kitttens. gimp chat deserves so much better!

Very surprising, Imgur is the standard image server for Reddit and the very "professional" StackOverflow. Links to imgur images I submitted over three years are still valid (and still display the original subject).

What can happen is that the original author deletes his/her images from Imgur, and there is little the forum owner/admin can do about this (while local images could always be restored, assuming they are actually deleted in the first place).
