At some point over the next week, GIMP Chat's WEB Host will be upgrading from MYSQL 5.0 to MYSQL 5.5. The underlying phpBB3 code is a few years old and has been heavily modified to create GC's custom theme. Much of the site's code was written using MYSQL 4.x and since MYSQL 5.x, in some cases, is not backwardly compatible, problems could arise.

So, it's possible something might break over the next week. We will just have to wait and see. If it's something major, we will all know it.

It could also be something minor so if you notice anything strange, make a post back here or to the Site Support Forum so we can check it out.

Thanks for the heads up Tux. Hopefully it will be seamless and maybe even allow you to implement some cool new features when the upgrade completes. Not going to post much anywhere the next few days though (shift starts mañana; lol), so maybe it will be bug free when I can post more regularly after Tuesday.
