Alternatives to OBS??

Wed Dec 06, 2017 1:03 pm

Hi everyone hope you're doing good!
I was curious if anyone got an alternatives to OBS for recording my webcam?
As it stands now OBS keeps glitching out all my footage and it looks like a broken tv.
I really don't have any money so free would be amazing or at the very least dirt cheap.

I really wanna use the webcam cause it's got widescreen and all my videos are a box.

Any help is welcomed!
You can see my full problem if anyone knows a way to fix it here : https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/gl ... ing.77946/

Thanks!

I don't have a webcam. Why can't you just use a screen recording utility? Most will allow to capture a fixed size, example would be 1280x720 recording window. Lot's of decent free ones out there. What OS are you running?

Check your Bitrate,
it may need to be adjusted.
Full HD standard Framerate is 1080p @ 30fps and a Bitrate @ 3500 to 5000 kbps.

I use an Nvidia graphics card and it shows in my settings as:
Encoder: NVENC H.264
If you're using a graphics car.
Be sure that it's selected.
The encoding set of X264 are used if you do not have a graphics card.

60 is what I have the FPS set at,
but it can also be adjusted lower,
if things become unstable.

I found that the best setting for the Downscale Filter,
is Lanczos.
