Public holidays do not usually keep people away from the internet but is everyone still getting over their Christmas/New Years?

All forums are slowly picking pace

Here. Still visit this forum everyday, although I rarely contribute anymore. These days, I use GIMP primarily to enhance my photos.

Wherever they may be I hope they're creating epic renders using gimp.

I'm on GimpChat a few times every day, but it's just quiet... no inspiration, no questions, no comments, no new plugins.

She's fine. We are both spending a lot of time on Deep Dream. We just came back from Dalarna (The Dales, in the north of Sweden) where we had a very white Christmas. We had a wonderful time. How was your Christmas?

Glad your's was good. Ours was not white but quite warm....some might even say hot! I went to one of my daughter's for lunch/dinner where we and her siblings spent the day. Found out a few days before my son is a Captain in the Army now. Promoted last year from Private to Sargeant and again this year to Captain

Glad everyone's made it across the 2022 barrier; hope this year's better than the last.

Odd website and browser issues can. For some odd reason waterfox was not asking to bypass the https and use http. just tracked down the issue to this a few moments ago. Though there was an issue with site and i'd get 403 errors and sometimes a message about "Apache is functioning normally "

I've discovered some interesting things about the advertising on Gimp Chat.
The ads will often take you away from the site if you use the backarrow button of Firefox.
The ads are targeted. As a male I see alot of dating sites ads. (they obviously don't know how old I am)
I actually have screengrabs of 'Halal Dating for Muslims' and similar from Gimp Chat.
I found that very interesting because members here can't post anything political or religious. But advertisers can. That means the advertisers have more rights than the members. If the advertisers only exist because of the members then what is actually happening?

Members also have the right to block ads in their browser
. But in practice I don't see any... If I am an anonymous visitor I see empty spaces(*) but If I'm logged on these spaces aren't there, so as far as I can tell there are no ads for registered members when they are logged on.

More like "non-christian" in practice.
(*) Because my "hosts" file has an entry for
www.googleadservices.com

That's amazing - the ads have disappeared today. For me no ads if logged-out or logged-in. I'm sure they are just being fine tuned
Later.....sure enough the ads have been fixed and they show if not logged-in. Maybe the admins never see them bacuse they are always logged-in? This is normal at the bottom of the page for somebody profiled as male. Attractive isn't it?

I don't see any adds whether logged in or not. It's probably because of my FF settings as I don't use add blockers.
Perhaps you are logged into a Google account and the adds are following you around?

If you look at 'Who is online' at the bottom of Gimp Chat you see one of the main users is ' Google Adsense [Bot]'
Why would that be here if there are no google ads?
ATM there are no ads for me on Gimp Chat.
