Gimpchat not working...

I took Gimp Chat out of my hosts file, re-booted and cleared browser history so GC is working normally.

Interestingly, here in Australia the NBN (national broadband) doesn't let you choose your own DNS server. That's so the gov can keep everybody's usage data for 2 years. In the past I used google dns servers because they resolved faster than tel$tras. The hosts file edits lets you connect to a remote host directly. Just sayin

I can run it through my VPN, and it works fine. Adding the address in the host file didn't work for me.

Yesterday OpenDNS worked but Cloudflare's DNS did; today it's the opposite. Weird. Hope all the DNS update soon. Not sure who is causing the fake site to show; they should be sued. lol
