Hope everyone is doing well. I've been missing all my friends here.

I noticed GIMP 2.10 is released!
Anyone know why they didn't include the playground stuff?
Mirror imaging, node warp or any of those wonderful new toys. :)

Hi Rod... Symmetry painting is in (Windows>Dockable dialogs>Symmetry painting), and the node warp maybe be in too (I think it has to be enabled somewhere in the preferences, but I don't see it in my version).

Yes; just added this to my settings yesterday, offnuts. If you play with the sliders, you can get up/down, left/right crossover too which makes creating seamless textures a breeze. :)

Quick try using the character brush someone here posted a while back.

Yes; it's seamless. Just wish they would have added the clone brush to this feature; oh well. :)

Another one; this one was all but impossible to do without wrap feature. Call this ones Vines Impossible. :)

Thanks everyone!
Good to see you all as well.

I don't see the Playground option in Edit>Preferences in the standard GIMP.ORG download.
Sams nor Parthas 2.10.4 Windows compiled versions in portable do not have it either.

Strange that they would not include them.

You need to add the switch to your shortcut in order the have the option available: --show-playground Then it will show up in Settings.

In order for it to work for me i had to open the cmd.exe in c:\windows\system 32 folder.
Then i just typed in
cd c:\program files\gimp 2\bin

Hit the enter key.
You should now see
c:\program files\gimp 2\bin>
After the ">" type
gimp-2.10.exe --show-playground
and hit the enter key.
Gimp will open.
Go to edit >pref and you will see it "playground" listed there. Click on it. Just check them both and select the ok button at the bottom of the pref dialog window. Re-open gimp and they are in the tool box.

That worked for me.

For some reason the 64 bit cmd window wouldn't let me change directories from c:\user\rod :hoh

Glad you've got it sorted out Rod. I don't use Windows and assumed it would be similar to Linux when I posted the instructions by enabling the switch in the ShortCut. I thought that would be universal, go figure...

Hope to see some cool images using that interesting filter from you in the future, Rod.
