The tools & since you like appimages. The usual fontforge I sometimes use this just for 'fixing' a broken font. https://appimage.github.io/FontForge/ or Birdfont Possibly easier to use for creating a font but the dark interface and symbolic icons are horrible https://www.appimagehub.com/p/1382290 For designing, do a search |

Inkscape to create the glyphs & FontForge to create the .ttf like I mentioned in the other topic. I'm just working on a font from 1970s that I couldn't find in any other format than .gif image. First I though to make it Gimp Custom Font, but decided otherwise to be able to use it also in other editors. But I'm already getting super-hyped about the SVG fonts because it allows the use of colors, gradients and other attributes which is not possible in traditional TTF or OTF format. |
