I wondered how long it would take. Although, I thought their reason for existing was a bit too pretentious. I did like the preference made by a poster, in the comment section, to rename GIMP to Professional Image Manipulation Program. That was a genius suggestion. |

Wouldl personally lean towards GINP: GINP Is Not Photoshop. |

Oh what was that other GIMP fork that actually supported high bit edits well before GIMP finally did; was geared to movie producers as I recall. Still, plain ol' the GIMP is good enough for me (so long as I can still run G'MIC). ![]() |

OK; a bit of search tweaking and I found Cinepaint (Film GIMP). Of course there was also GIMPShop. lolololol Not sure about Cinepaint; don't even see a need for it now that GIMP can handle high definition bits. As for GIMPShop, some other sites I frequent bring it up once in a while, but for all practical purposes, GIMPShop's pretty dead, too. ![]() |

Just go and download GIMP instead. ![]() |

I don't want to get political here but I am upset that Glimpse got so much attention for doing nothing. All the mainstream Linux news journals were covering Glimpse. I wish I got one tenth the attention they got. I think they paid advertisers to spread their news and "wokeness" in the FOSS community. This community did not give Glimpse major attention but Linux news places did. |

Rome wasn't built in a day. It takes several years before a project gets recognition, and you have been at it for about a year. Much less if we look at Github (started in May it seems) or when you started to make binaries. Your projects hardly show up on Google... and it took Gimp-Forum.net 3 to 4 years to become to mainstream enough to show up in the first answers on Google. Also, of course Glimpse had a good PR team, but of course they also look stupid now. |
