It's been a while since I logged into gimpchat.

I have been working with morphing things to please myself.

I asked chatGPT if there's any free morphing programs and it mentioned a couple but according to chatGPT, you need to define points as to tell it how to morph and I think it's because the morphing programs expect you to morph and image to image.

Not a cut out with transparency of a shape into another cut out of a shape also with transparency.

So with transparency, which defines the shapes of starting image and ending image..... it's possible to do this.

I don't know if this can be used for Custom Font or not.... The video shows 15 frames starting with t=0 and ending with t=1.0.
any fraction in between we get something a hybrid.
I think t isn't fully 1.0 it's interesting because we get a bird like capital A. hehe.
If you're interested in this let me know I'll try to translate it into python. and make a plug-in or something so that people can use in GIMP.

All the other videos I have that have to do with morphing actually changes colors gradually so that you end up with the 2nd (target) image (that's cut out).
It is only this above shared video that I kept the colors of the original 1st image (the bird) to show if it can be used for custom fonts. since changing colors to a solid color of the letter would be pointless.

Thanks for the quick reply Skinnyhouse,

If/When I do it in Python. I'd probably make it so you pass the plug-in a starting image (that's a cut out) and an ending image that's also a cut out. and give it a t (for time from 0 to 1.0) value. And then maybe an option to toggle color change or not so if there's color change then as it transition it'll get closer to ending image's color. Where if you toggle color change off...then it'll always have the original starting image's color like shown in video.

You should see other morphing videos I have they change color to end up at target image.

Oh like this one is a good example changing colors and there's some likes on this video so I'll it and let people see what i mean when you would toggle color change ON.
