I deleted BIMP, thinking that was the problem when I looked into doing a system restore. I didn't do the system restore because it said two different things. It was going to delete Microsoft Office Home edition and Microsoft Edge and might have restored Microsoft Edge and restored Microsoft Office Home edition. Image

This is great example of why people should be making backups of their system.
You could try a repair install Windows 10 with an In-place upgrade.

This shouldn't even be happening. My laptop is only 2 years old. I also remember windows screwing me up the last time something like this happened. It was last year actually. The last restore point, I had made was on 11/18/20. Also, I am not the only windows user having issues with version 20H2. Search the Windows Feedback Hub. Search: 20H2

I'm really thinking that my next OS will be a docker type where I launch VMs as needed. Need at least 16 cores if I'm going to do this and run multiple OSs simultaneously. Would like the AMD Ryzen 9 series processor but at the moment a bit expensive. I think I can get away with a Ryzen 7. :)

I finally got in contact with a Microsoft Support member named Tony. Tony suggested that I do an in place upgrade. He emailed me the instructions. Is an in place up grade the same as a fresh install or a clean install? Wallace suggested it as well. :) If I do the in place up grade will I lose anything?

I shouldn't have to do it. Windows 10 20H2 should have had their bugs and kinks already fixed before rolling out the update.

Yes I do realize that. It's only because my HP laptop came with Microsoft. Everything was fine up until the new 20H2 update.

You can also try the
"Deployment Image Servicing and Management"
or DISM.
Open administrative command prompt.
Type or copy and paste one command at a time:

1) dism /online /cleanup-image /checkhealth
2) dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
3) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
4) dism /online /cleanup-Image /restoreHealth /Source:repairSource\install.wim
5) chkdsk /scan
6) sfc /scannow

I will try that. Thanks Wallace. Wallace, I tried this and I ran it as administrator and it didn't help. The task view is still stuck. I have unchecked the show task view button.
