Gladly done!
I'm sorry to say the decrease of honeybees is registered almost worldwide !
When they're totally gone - we have a serious problem!

The honeybees will thank us for trying to spread the message to increase their safe food supply.

the honeybees dying?
That sounds so weird to me.
There are so many bees around here as ants.
What is killing them out there? Pesticides? :hoh

Tin, i just read http://www.ted.com/talks/marla_spivak_w ... sappearing

"So what are we going to do? What are we going to do about this big bee bummer that we've created? It turns out, it's hopeful. It's hopeful. Every one of you out there can help bees in two very direct and easy ways. Plant bee-friendly flowers, and don't contaminate these flowers, this bee food, with pesticides. So go online and search for flowers that are native to your area and plant them. Plant them in a pot on your doorstep. Plant them in your front yard, in your lawns, in your boulevards. Campaign to have them planted in public gardens, community spaces, meadows. Set aside farmland. We need a beautiful diversity of flowers that blooms over the entire growing season, from spring to fall. We need roadsides seeded in flowers for our bees, but also for migrating butterflies and birds and other wildlife. And we need to think carefully about putting back in cover crops to nourish our soil and nourish our bees. And we need to diversify our farms. We need to plant flowering crop borders and hedge rows to disrupt the agricultural food desert and begin to correct the dysfunctional food system that we've created."

People need to know about it.
Tin
Thanks for helping to promote this cause. :tyspin

We purposely have our lawns full of white clover, the clover grows low enough that the mover rarely gets to it, and it's full of flowers all summer. The bees love it and you can always hear some humming every time you go out. In fact, I have to always wear flip flops outside and watch where I step to keep from getting stung.

We also let sunflowers reseed and grow around our property for both bees and birds to enjoy…and we enjoy the cheerful flowers, too!

I didnt read the whole thread but im hoping its not a sarcastic one cuz if it is, my post wont make sense. hahaha.

Anyway, about 4 weeks ago, some tree trimmers were trimming a tree (say that 4 times fast) and they found a honeybee nest... yup they destroyed it. pissed me off. We are short of them anyway and to destroy its home is stupid. either trimm around it or seriously try and relocate it. thats hard to do but it can be done.

Trim around or relocate, I totally agree, I don't know much about tree trimming or bees but you'd think tree trimmers people should know about this since their job is so directly related to such issues.

Well my lawn contributes. I have regular crops of dandelions and small daisies coming up all the time. I keep telling myself that if the dandelions disappear, the earth is in really serious trouble. They grow anywhere and if they're all gone, nothing else can probably grow either.

great, Oregonian.
I will share your image on facebook as well. I love dandelions because of how they pop up anywhere I believe that if they all die we have a serious problem too.

Trandoductin, you may want to share this picture instead. It gives proper credit to the people who made the image. I cleaned off the credits. If you put it on Facebook, the credits should be on it as others may share it too.

My yard is a repository for endangered plant species Tran (i.e., if it weren't for weeds, I wouldn't have any grass at all). lol

Benefit is my yard stays green all year long including Winter (except when it gets harsh like it did this past year). Sad to say, I rarely see bees now; only bumble (carpenter) bees. :)

We seem to have plenty of bees around in the warmer weather. People in the city where I live love their flowers. We even have a lot of flowering trees in our streets.

That's great to know, there's a lot of flowers in Victoria (where I live too) but the message is for the hope that we do it globally to help the bees. :)
