 Post subject: Something i didn't know you could do with banners.

I downloaded my banner to use as a splash and look what happened to the bg. :)
Pretty sure that isn't the bg i created it with. :lol

It is actually my own theme bg from Metallic Blue Licorice.

EDIT: So upon browsing to my "splashes" folder and looking at the banner image i downloaded it has a solid black bg.

Uploaded here it has transparency. I know GIMP will normally use white as a bg on splashes with transparency so what the heck is going on here? Does GIMP use the theme bg instead of white now?

Yes it is "Metallic Blue Licorice" you can get it here. :)

The funny thing is some of my splashes open with the theme and some with a white bg. :lol Weird.

If your splash image has transparency, then your theme will show through:

Very cool. But sometimes my images that have transparency use a white bg. They are all the same extension by the way "PNG". :)

On the "problem" ones I'd check the export settings. These are the settings for my example above:
