It is just outside of one of my windows and just below my neighbour's window who lives above me.
This is the 2nd time this Spring they have been active.

I live in the southern hemisphere Alec. It is the last month of Spring here. I just took it this afternoon. My location is underneath my avatar.

It is a bit worrying that the bees are so close to your house, Sallyanne. As bees are so beneficial, I think you should seek help from your council and they will send someone to remove them without damage. IMO. (Only call them to say the problem)

That sounds like sound advice Issabella, they would have the equipment to keep them safe and probably know what they are doing.

Thought it may have been but my landlady wont do anything about it. I have already found a dead one in my room on the other side of the window. Not sure how it got in as the fly screen is good and the window is only just a little open. (Window winds out and I cannot get it closed completely). I have a feeling they are in the whole wall on that side as I can hear them buzzing from another room next to that wall.

Sallyanne, if I were you I would call to animal protecting association, they will know what to do. Your landlady doesn't have to get worried as expert people know how to get the queen bee and the whole bee members follow her. They don't destroy anything. I think that it may be dangerous for you and your family to be so close to them. Lucky friend!

I got stung by a wasp this summer on my way into an office. I thought 'oh no, bad night coming', but the receptionist had an anti sting wipe in their first aid kit (both of us being a bit surprised). I didn't know such things existed, calamine lotion yes, but not one specific like that. No pain, no swelling. I had no discomfort that night.

Just saying they have those now, in case you try to sit on one like I did.

oh, it wasn't actually a wipe, just packaged like one. You applied it like a band aid

We had a major bee problem in the wood beams around a converted garage windows (Dad removed the garage door to make a man cave (called a den at that time; lol). Dad loves all animals and didn't do anything about the bees. After a severe (and I mean severe) Winter a year later, the bees apparently were no longer since there just wasn't any anymore (thank God). lol

Hope you don't have a bee problem Sallyanne. If you do, I hope you have easy access to the honey (we didn't; that was the real crux. lol). :)

The holes look just like the ones people drill in Honeybee hives. I'll bet you have a colony there. :hehe

I'll check your video out in a minute. Edit: At least they wont be in my ceiling unless they can get between floors. I have another dwelling above me.
It has gone on for a few years already and I am not the only one who thinks they may be in the wall cavity as they can be seen at a few of the vents on that side of the wall.
I just rang my Landlady and she said the council won't do anything. Maybe because it is a private rental place?

Those holes are the air vent holes. With my luck there will be a colony. I have lived here since 96. Didn't notice them straight away but heard them from inside a couple years later.

Bee population of the world is going down, it's a serious issue. They are valuabe, valuable animals for pollination. So I would support what others say, try to get some professionals there to move them without harm.

Sallyanne , You definitely have a colony in there. Ring Spring Gully Farms 184 Gavan Rd Dry Creek SA 5094 Ph 08 82627555 They are a honey farm and advertise in Australian Bee Journal. If they don't they can probably reccommend someone to get the swarm (if possible)

What Griatch says is very apparent here in Canada too. I don't know when the last time I saw a bumble bee. I used to see them all the time in my flowers. Yes it is a serious problem. I usually have a very big crop beans, gr peppers, tomatoes etc but this year I didn't even have enough can or bottle.
