I recently watched a video about using these 4 household products as CPU Thermal Paste.

(A) Tooth Paste-----------------
(B) Moisturizing Lotion------
(C) Peanut Butter (smooth)-
(D) Oreo Cookie Frosting----

Which product do you think performed the best.

Give your answer as,
A, B, C or D in your reply.

Thermal paste

Image

(aka. CPU grease, heat paste, heat sink compound, heat sink paste,
thermal compound, thermal gel, thermal grease, or grey goo)

Is a kind of thermally conductive (but usually electrically insulating) compound,
which is commonly used between a heat sinks and central processing unit (CPU).
The main role of thermal paste is to eliminate air gaps or spaces
(which act as thermal insulator)
from in between the heat sink and CPU,
so as to maximize heat transfer of the CPU to the heat sink.
Helping to dissipate heat from the CPU,
thereby allowing regulation of the device's temperature.

I'm going to go with B, Moisturizing lotion. It supposedly adds moisture and keeps it in.

Hmmm, I can't decide between toothpaste and moisturizing lotion. I have used toothpaste to repair holes in wallboard and it dries hard so I guess I will go with the lotion, B.

Even water works as long as it doesn't boil... The problem is really how the product ages. So how long did the tests go? (I would vote for suet, if it were tested)

The test was run for 5 minutes with each product using AIDA64 software.
The base reading for the test was taken form a CPU with GELID Thermal Compound applied.

This does not suggest that any of the products tested,
could or should be used in place of legitimate Thermal Compound.
