I haven't posted anything from Gimp in a while.
Sorry for that.
However,
I've been busy with scale model building.
Which is something I use to enjoy regularly in the past.

This is what I've been working on lately.

It's a "work in progress",
that should be completed soon.

Very nice Viking vessel. I never had the patience needed for modeling myself...

Thanks you guys, racer-x & Tas_mania. :bigthup

I did create a sail for the ship using Gimp,
but unfortunately I'm not going to use it.

I have more photos of the ship model,
but they're not very good.
I put them in a photo montage nonetheless.

Take note of my well organized work-space.

That kind of crafting is amazing to me. The only models I ever worked with were the old Aurora Movie Monsters. They were simple enough that after more than 50 years I can still put Frankenstein together in my head. And quickly, too, happy to say. Hope your new start is a grand voyage.

I'm familiar with those kits and they're great!
I do believe I had the chance to build the Aurora Wolfman kit.
Which has sadly and most likely,
been tossed in the trash.

That's great work Wallace. I used to make models from airfix kits when I was younger but never anything from scratch. I have no objection to you disappearing from time to time if that is what you come up with! :hi5 :jumpclap :clap :bigthup

Thanks Erisian.

Airfix kits, I know them well.
Have been around a long time.
I login to GC every day,
so it's not like I actually went anywhere,
but I get what you're saying.

:hehe

Aw... thank you AnMal.

It's wonderful to be able to make my creative visions come to life.
If it happens to be a scale model for display,
or a long thought over image in Gimp.
This kind of creativity,
seems to be most important to me.
I'm enjoying my return.

Thank you OMG.

Dreams help to make my life tolerable,
and since I can only dream of such an endeavor.
This gives my ship model a greater significance to me.

Don’t be afraid to start over. It’s a new chance to rebuild what you want.

Very nice Viking boat model Wallace. :bigthup
I put together many fighter plane scale models back in the youth, but it wasn't that serious business. They were all eventually shot down by the New Year Eve's Firecracker Unit.

The model is in the last stages of assembly.
I'll be posting more pictures when it's finished,
which should be very soon.

Wallace, the model looks so detailed. Your work is excellent! I have not done models since I was a child, and that really was a long time ago! I stuck to the simple ones as I did not have a great interest in it, but was always amazed by the creations of those that did.

It's all about enjoying one's self and having a good time with it.
I've had more than a 20 year hiatus for the hobby and it's nice to find,
that after all these years.
I still have what it takes to build nice looking scale models.
This has me feeling very satisfied,
about my "long awaited return" to model building.
