I am a musician as well as an artist and I play guitars keyboards and various wind instruments. In the eighties I produced an album. Sadly I no longer have access to a playable copy but about 13 years ago I re-recorded one of the tracks as a single. It's very mellow with a long instrumental intro so make a drink, pull up an armchair, relax and enjoy.

Cool Eris, glad to got it figured out. I love that Irish Flute, it is so very soothing.

Thank you Molly. I love the sound of wind instruments, especially wooden and bamboo flutes. I have four including the Irish whistle and I also have an Ocarina which I believe is South American in origin.

Listening to it now Erisian. Definitly like the instrumental introductory. I have 3 different recorders too; wanted to get a pan flute, but my cheapness overtook that desire. lol

Play clarinet and can read music with it, but play by ear w.r.t. the recorders. Have to admit it's been years since I played them (divorce, et. al.), but still play the clarinet. Believe Tux is a keyboardist too. Lots of musicians here at GIMPChat. Thanks for sharing that link. :)

Thanks Lyle. I learnt to play flute at school and learnt to read music for it but all other instruments I play by ear.. I want a Pan flute too - I love the sound of them. Once you've played one wind instrument, the rest are easy. The principle is exactly the same from one instrument to another so if you can play recorder, you can easily play an Irish whistle for example. I did find the ocarina a bit more difficult because the holes are laid out down two sides. I like the sound of the clarinet and oboe but as a rule I don't go for reed instruments.

Ahhh, the flute and guitar at the beginning are hauntingly beautiful and mellow and invite a state of serenity. Overall, it is lovely. Thanks for sharing, Brian. :guitrock :smiley2

You're welcome O. Up until today it had only been heard locally - now it's gone international.

very nice Erisian, i really mean that !

instead of uploading it to a fliesharing service you should consider, uploading it to soundcloud.com
its a service for people who make music and you can decide if you want it downloadable or not

Celtic is my favorite kind of music, this is very good. I particularly like flute and Uilleann pipes.

Thank you GMS. I absolutely adore Uilleann pipes. ( I don't know if we've spelt that correctly but what the heck! ) The flute is my favourite of all instruments.

GMS: uilleann pipes have a nice, soft sound for a pipe and can be lovely when they're played well. i like the whole pipe family but prefer the scottish highland pipes - those things mean business and no doubt :).

Lovely! I'm listening to it on repeat while I color a drawing!

I play keyboard...I'm trying to write a song, is hard cause I can't write music (the notes) so I have to memorize everything. :gaah ...

Thank you. If you're listening to it on repeat, you must like it. I can only write for the flute but I didn't actually write anything. It's all just memorized or ad-lib. I actually wrote the song part and the instrumental as separate pieces and joining them together was an afterthought. :)

Erisian, i just realized you added a license, which is probably a good idea
but its also true that most people will delete this little text document at once

why dont you put the license into the id3 tag under comments ?
then music and license would be in one place (the mp3)

I gave that a go Esper but it cut off half the license.

You obviously have a number of fine talents that I am happy to say, I envy.

Thank you Anmal for bringing this post to my notice.

Wow, I forgot about this thread. I didn't realize Fantasy was still downloadable. I'm glad you like it and when I am more settled with a job and the peace of mind it will bring I will probably start taking music seriously again and you will hear more from me. :guitrock

As the saying goes, a gentleman is someone who can play the bagpipes... but doesn't. Plenty of pipes, all have their charms. I do agree that the Northumbrian pipes(*) are possibly the most civilized, but is that a good thing for music? At least AC/DC took advantage of the cheeky side ot the Scottish pipes.

(*) get any recording by Kathryn Tickell
