A couple of days back we had a garden visitor for the first time ever and we have been here for many many years - a Brush Turkey was wandering around our garden. Normally they are bush residents, typically rain forest.

I was out there gardening this morning and noticed a few deep scratch marks ... next moment I saw the Brush Turkey wandering around and it started some deep scratching under the trees in my native bush garden. It is welcome here but I hope it does not decide to build its nest here ... typically a compost like mound as large as a small car!!

Glad it's not in my yard; either the neighborhood cat (or me) would end up eating it. lololol

:)

I read these birds were moving-in to the Sydney suburbs. They adapt well to humans. I think it's good having 'natives' around.
Wallaby's do almost all of my mowing and I have 3 acres to mow. If you give it some bird seed it will hang around for ever :)
