Hiii! I'm just curious where can I go for a website with a domain name I pick out?
I'm tight on money so the cheapest but not terrible service available would be ideal. I'm also horrible at coding so that's another factor if it gives me a base to work off of that would be good too. I have access to a domain right now but that is a friend's domain so the page name is too long to be memorable or taken seriously.

Thanks!

There are lots of free ones if you are willing to have their name as part of your web address. And most have tons of templates to use, and you can always make changes to the templates.

Does your ISP give you an option to have one there?
I had one on mine but had to pay if I wanted a name.

Try here

Oh and with most of them you do not need to know html.
They usually have a "wysiwyg" (what you see is what you get) web builder.

Most blogs are free too.

I don't know where you are based, but I have a couple of websites with a company called UK2. (Obviously in the UK, but I think also in the US.)
They do budget webhosting for £0.99 per month (2 year contract) which includes 500MB hosting space, 1GB monthly traffic and 24/7 support, etc., etc.
They sell domain names at approximately £7.00.
For the many years I have been with them they have been excellent. However, I am sure there must be many other companies with similar offerings.

I just saw an ad for wix.com to set up your own website. They have a template to follow if you want. Says it is "free". I'm not sure what that means.

I'm never sure where to go cause just cause it's free... It'll probably have adds or something but free is all I can really afford so. D:

Wix is truly free, as long as your domain name has Wix in it. And it's free to make websites and don't publish them, just for practice. I have used Wix myself, and currently run one for a Canadian chorus club. They do pay for their domain name without Wix in it, but I also know a gal who runs a fan site for free (keeps Wix name in the domain). I will link them for you. As you can see, the free domain name is really not so bad.

I feel comfortable using blogger and wordpress. Both are free of charge and requires no coding knowledge.

Mokonafan, sweetheart
if you really want to find work
please change your attitude from a pessimist to an optimist

you can paint, nice, then paint and stop finding ways why you cant ...
you don't need a degree for creativity
you don't need a certain age
just a portfolio whit your work

and every website will do atm, you can't be picky if you got no assets
but when money comes in you can lose it and go for better

i don't write much here, i got 1 of the worst forms of dyslexia, i'm almost 100% image driven
but I can write here because google can translate, dys. did-dent stop me from writing here
noting has ever stopped me in doing things
give me some tools and a place to work and my creative mind does the rest
the lesser it is, the more i will produce

and please see all the good tips you get here
Walles even placed 1 of the best ideas if seen so far
the are millions of painters on the internet who can use a computer and you have to fight your way up between them
but the world is asking for painters who can use a brush and make a painting on a wall, or a wooden board or...
handmade is under the locals sometimes more appreciated then computer work
place some work on places where the farmers gather so they can see your work

start seeing opportunities not obstacles
be like a tree that grows wild, play in he world of creative possibilities
don't cut of the branches already before you tried them out

I realize this post is 4 plus years old, and most would ask themselves "why is he commenting on this?" Feel free to do so.

When I was in my early 20's, I hit ROCK BOTTOM. Homeless, no job, hungry, depressed. One day I was walking by a chain of stores in OKC and saw all these butt ugly ad signs in the windows, including the one at the pizza shop. I was hungry and willing to even sweep and mop just to get a bite to eat, instead, I told the manager that I could decorate his window by painting it. He was skeptical, so I used a pen and napkin to illustrate a design for him and he was sold. Long story short, it turned into a chain reaction, where stores in the vicinity wanted me to do their windows. I made so much money I was able to get an apartment, and a contractor "discovered" me, gave me a job in his company, and off to college I went. Even today, I make a little extra cash for Christmas by painting Christmas murals on store windows, just for kicks. I tell my kids this story, because for one, I want them to believe anything is possible, because it is.
