I'm freaking out, flipping,
because of this purchase.
Dinner's in the dipping
turning into charred mess.

I must persevere,
first gorge the casserole.
But after that, oh dear
I will go out of control, and draw my first troll.

Just kidding, it's gonna be a doll! Magic dolls beat trolls.

Semi-spontaneously decided to grab this, because it was the last on the shelf.
Crossing fingers it will go as easy as plug-and-play on Linux.
Last time I had Intuos 3, it was bigger and much more expensive, but the column of buttons were awful.
I was fiddling with the software most of the time and never got anything done, so I sold it with 50€.
Now I'm determined to use this.

Be sure to let us see how it goes. As with any pen and tablet, I hope it works out to your expectations.

Nice purchase Nidhogg. I hope you get good use out of it.

I have an Intuos Pen&Touch small. I haven't used it for a long time because of lag in later Gimp versions. I got so used to using a mouse that I continued to use a mouse even with MyPaint and Krita.

Of course mahvin. Yay, works out of the box, that's great.
I will begin with simple doodling and sketching, because I have not been drawing anything in years.
This parametric brushes tutorial by Americo Gobbo looks like a good starting point, so I installed them and the dynamics.

Thank you Wallace and Erisian, you've done so nice art Erisian. I thought all the faces are done with pen tablet.
Does not seem to lag (white BG and only one painting layer).
Panning with pen button, but I need to figure out a solution for fast zooming.

See you in the art section next time, I don't think I will be playing with scripts and plugs for few days :jumpclap

Most of my early work was with a tablet but when 2.8 came out, it introduced a lot of difficulties for me. For me, the whole brush engine became a nightmare so I switched to Krita for a while, then MyPaint but had to polish my work in Gimp anyway. That was when I switched to using a the laptop's touchpad (sorry, I said mouse previously, I meant touchpad.)

Maybe the linux version isn't as laggy as the Windows version.

Used my Bamboo maybe once or twice and it's now in storage. Just not an artist; I'm a filter guy. lolololol

Damn; as a side note, I wish I can get inspired once again, but life's keeping me too busy for it. Finally I get 2 days to myself (i.e., no work to worry about). Anyway, hope you do get more joy out of your investment, Nidhogg. :)

I thought a couple of times of going tablet mode, but with shaky hands I have stuck with my special Hippus 'arthritic' mouse. It seems to get the job done :hehe

The school issued Surface Go tablets, and I immediately sought out the best graphics app to use with it and the pen. Turns out to be Adobe Sketchbook. GIMP and the rest just lag too much and make sketching un-fun.

A Ugee 19" Graphics Drawing Pen Tablet Monitor. It was less than a lot of tablets and it had all this. I got it off of Amazon and I was happy with it. Only thing is my latest computer doesn't have any place to connect it. I'm gonna try to get an adapter. I don't think there is anywhere to connect to even that, it will have to be more like a USB cable. Not sure the tablet has anything for an adapter I may have to buy an older computer, oddly enough they had a place to plug it in and despite that this tablet was brand new tech.

I had no way of taking an actual picture of my Ugee so I googled an image and posted it through my imgur account.

Hello, have something as well. That's why I liked my Ugee because it was much quicker and easier than doing it with the built in mouse pad on my laptop. I had to get used to that again but it has been workable. But I still prefer my Ugee.
