I am worried that GC has something embedded in it's links or have I got a bug?
For the last week or so I have been getting this when clicking on any link in Gimp Chat

Of course it doesn't always happen but it hasn't happened anywhere else, only here.

Haven't seen any ads like this, Sallyanne; have seen a lot of spam posts that the moderators took down. Still, I do ad blocker stuff to keep this from happening. I use Privoxy for this. Privoxy is an open source tool that eats up anything like ads once set up. :)

I haven't seen any ads either Sallyanne. I have an ad blocker. I use ad blocker ultimate which is an extension for Microsoft Edge.

Like I said it has only been recently - could be a number of reasons though, Main one being I often leave my computer on 'hibernate' instead of shutting it down completely because if I do I have to sign into everything all over again each time I sign in and I am the only one who uses this computer for the most part.
Anyway I have just bought the adblock add-on for Chrome which is my browser.

Glad I am not the only one Issabella. I wonder if one of our recent spammers did something to the site.

When I access Gimpchat on my PC, I use an AdBlock in the browser, so I never see Ads on this forum. But unlike accessing it from the laptop, there are always Ads on every page.

No adds here and I don't use an add blocker. I do run FireFox in privacy mode and Chrome in incognito mode however. I also run Linux, so that may be another reason.

No ads, using FireFox with NoScript & uBlock Origin. Using the internal Master Password feature to store website logins.
Don't find it troublesome to enter BIOS pass & OS login every time on boot, wouldn't keep computer on hibernate because of that.

I'm going to try Racer-X's suggestion and browse in incognito mode.
Ads are really numerous around here.

Lylejk, the t-shirt really has its appeal, if I find one in a physical store, I could even try and buy it :-)

Did not work. Even with anonymous browsing, Ads continue.

Okay, if that somehow brings benefits to the forum I don't mind. I can support Ads of this type if it is for a good cause.

It seems the ads only appear when you're not login and you don't have a pop up blocker. I tried it and when I go to post to read it I got the ads when I turn off the Pop up blocker. Once you I turn on the Pop up blocker the ads disappear.

By the way, if you have "Chrome" get the extension "ABP pop up blocker" and you will not get these pop ups

Strange, no add blocker of any kind and I get no adds. here is FireFox in private mode. I do have all browsers set to delete history and cookies when I exit, maybe the problem lies in the stored cookies?

I may not get ads at all now I have a adblocker installed in my browser. I was always getting the ones you get when not logged in but the one I showed is a new one and only showed up when I clicked on links within Gimp Chat.
