It saddens me greatly to have to say,
that Molly has passed away at 12:30 this afternoon.
After a lengthy struggle with the insidious disease of cancer.
She will be sorely missed.
Molly was here form the beginning of Gimp Chat,
and has always done he best to help others.

Below is the email message I received from her sister Nancy.

This is really sad and upsetting. Molly and "O" were very helpful to me when I first joined, as they were to everyone. I am not ashamed to say that I am shedding some tears over this one. I believe that she was loved by all, and rightly so. I missed her, as she had not been posting, and now, knowing she will not return to us, makes it tremendously so.

Extremely sad news indeed, Wallace. Had many exchanges (both posts and PMs) with Molly of the years. Wow; first Oregonian, and now Molly (believe a few others too, but I've not much interaction with them). Bummed I am; heart and prayers to her family.

So sad news. I am deeply shocked because she meant so much in this forum. Generosity, selfless help, her great ability and ability in graphic art but also her personal dedication being a great moderator of the forum. She helped me so much especially when I started my first steps in Gimp program.
Rest in peace, Molly. An example for all who have known you.
Thanks Wallace to let us know.

The news that no-one wanted to hear. Thoughts and deepest sympathy to the family and friends of such a thoughtful and generous lady.

Saw your video post first Wallace. Wasn't sure what to make of it, now I see this it makes sense. Always think people will be around forever, forgetting we are only mortal. She will be very missed indeed. She was especially very encouraging to new members. Rest in Peace, Molly. Glad you have finally beaten this disease but sad you had to do it this way.

Oh no Molly!!! Wallace, please give her family our sincere sympathy through her sister. She was such a good friend and I know when Erisian finds out (he's busy downtown today) he will be very affected by this loss.

Molly, you will always be remembered as the good influence and inspiration you were. RIP.

(And lots of love to all you gimp chatters, I hit the wall again this spring when I tried to get back to my old workplace and I don't have the energy for social activities much. Know that you're in my thoughts and that I follow you on here anyway!)

I don't know what to say that hasn't already been said. This was a real shock to me as Molly was always a good friend to me and gave me a friendly kick up the rear at times. We used to PM, email and pidgin each other but I haven't been in contact for a long time. I could never have predicted this! She will be really missed by both AnMal and I and I'm sure by everybody on this forum who knew her.

So sorry to hear that Molly has gone through the mist. I have been thinking about her, noticed that she hadn't been posting and I knew she had cancer. So sad to lose those we care for.
