That sure is cool. The cracks in that wall look soooooooo real. The white marks add a lot reality to it. well done.

Very cool. I'd really be interested in knowing how you made those cracks.

It is a texture photo i downloaded from a free texture source, i did the paint job though! ;)
(masking in Inkscape). Thats a great idea to use it as a spash screen, ill do it!

Id be willing to bet i could recreate the cracks in the texture though...ill give it a try after my guitar project.
I am working on a guitar in InkScape right now, when its done ill upload it for you all to see.
here is a preview of the work in progress...

the guitar is vector, and i had to use a jpg image of an actual guitar photo, then cut out each shape and then created the gradients for each shape...tedious but fun, very fun.i love working in InkScape almost as much as GIMP. =)
after the guitar im gonna try a motorcycle (Harley Davidson probably)

Sorry if i confused you....
Vector images are scalable to any resolution and still look very sharp.Even if you scale them up in size.
SVG (scalable vector image). This is the native format InkScape creates its edit files.
Sorta like how Gimp creates XCF extension editables.
InkScape is one huge awesome path and vector image creator which is also free like Gimp.
The guitar when it is finished will be scaled down to icon size and will be my Rocketdock shortcut icon for all my saved guitar tabs.
Of course it will also go into my library of saved vector images for later editing if need be. =).
