Your link doesn't work.
You should remove [BBvideo]and[/BBvideo].
But the movie is really impressive.
I bet they use Linux to program everything.
Gerard.

Gotta give it up to those Germans!
That building must cost a fortune to heat and cool!
Side notes: a) notice how the workers are HAPPY!! b) there's only one place in the US that you can actually have a hand in building your own car and that is at the Bowling Green KY plant, home of the Corvette. And I can bet you dollars to doughnuts that it's nothing like that VW plant!

I +1 it! =))

Whatever happened to the greasy assembly line? lol

I've seen several hightech like facility videos like this one. Almost all of them in Europe. Guess we here in the U.S. still do things on the low tech side. lol

:)

After WW II lots of plants in Europe were in ruins ans had to be rebuild.
Of course you then build them according to the latest insights.
Not that the VW glass plant is of that era but modernizing was necessary to compete with Japan and Korea.
Detroit apparently was reluctant to spend money on it.
Too bad.
Gerard.

amazing how they manage to keep everything so clean! They must spend as much on cleaning crews as they do on the workers...er, I mean techs.

@Lyle and 2-ton and the others,
Here's why it's so clean.

ok, it's sort of cheating because it's only a final assembly plant. Still, it's very impressive.

I just can't believe how they can work all around that grease and stuff and still wear all white.
It is amazing how all that technology is used in that one building. How would you like to clean all those windows, inside and out. It would be never ending.

@gerard82 - I missed your link from above. Now I know why they wear white, lol :geek:
